Motivational Mondays: Fat Talk

Happy Motivational Monday! “No, that definitely doesn’t make you look fat.” “Don’t worry about it, you worked out today. You can afford that extra cookie!” FAT TALK. (See my video below.) We do it all the time, but starting today let’s start becoming more AWARE of the things we say aloud to other people and how we engage in “fat talk.” My friend Rachel posted a youtube video on her website, SheddingIt.com, that really sheds light on this topic. You can check out the youtube video I’m referring to here, and watch my video below for more explanation:

Full “Taste Test” Featured in my Groupon Application Vids!

Last month I “Took It To the Streets” and ran into the mail lady, who taste tested some healthy snacks! I took a snippet of that video and used it for my “Live off Groupons for a Year” application (see videos below). But in case you missed the full video with the mail lady, here it is:

My Groupon Video Bloopers & Outtakes

While I’m not the best editor on the planet (or even close to it), I did play the role of a highly paid editor for my Groupon application videos. Since there were time limits, and I got a lot of footage, I had to cut it down. Here are a few snippets that I think were funny, that unfortunately didn’t make the cut for my application videos:

Part 2 of my Groupon Application!

If you haven’t seen or heard about the contest I’m entering with Groupon, see my hilarious intro video from yesterday! Then, check out today’s video where I visited a local burger joint who used Groupon to increase their sales. Enjoy watching me mooch off customers and plop down at random peoples’ tables to chat!

Motivational Mondays: I’m Stepping It Up! My Intro for Groupon

Happy Motivational Monday! Today I’m sharing with you how I’m Stepping It Up!

Groupon is a website that offers discounts (at least 1/2 off!) to local establishments all over the country. You know how much I like good deals, so obviously I am a big Groupon advocate. They’re having a contest to see who they should pick to live off of Groupons for a YEAR (aka, living in hotels, traveling around the country, only eating food with Groupons, asking strangers to give you cash if you need it, etc.) At first I was excited and wanted to apply. Then I looked around at the competition and thought I wouldn’t be a good competitor so why waste my time. Then I thought about all the negatives that would go with winning the contest (the list was long), etc.

Then it occurred to me: This is how we talk ourselves out of Stepping It Up! We see something and right away want to do it or think it’s a good idea, and then we start talking ourselves out of it because of various reasons! Obviously I eventually committed to applying (see my intro video below!) but I’m happy I was able to recognize my thought patterns and even change them (aka, Step It Up) and confidently make some sweet videos for my application!

When have YOU been stuck or gotten caught up in talking yourself out of Stepping It Up?
